SLOWING DOWN
The wind is stronger, the waves higher, the temperature lower and the lobsters are more scarce.
Billie was setting out from the dock one morning lately and I remarked that he was well bundled up.
He replied that he "was wearing everything I could find." He said it took him 30 minutes in a hot
shower the day before to get the chill out of his bones. He's thinking about becoming a "summertime
lobsterman." Well, I suppose he's earned some time off after fifty years or so of chasing lobsters,
don't you think? And when he does, some lobsters may get to relax a bit, too.
